Inception

Inception was a movie that I've been anticipating to watch ever since its first teaser trailer, which I believe might have been during a showing of The Dark Knight. I watched it opening day with Reese and Shar, and it was pretty obvious that it would be amazing. And it was.

I don't want to give too much away, but the film was nothing less than brilliant. The concept was mind blowing in incorporating the plot of the inception and deception of dreams. Dreams are already fascinating on their own, especially when deliberating the meaning of them the morning after. Nolan's take on this idea was complex and kept the viewer constantly searching for more. The cinematography was visually gratifying.

It was a well casted movie with equal talent. DiCaprio, Cotillard, Watanabe, Page, & Hardy's performances were spot on. Joe Gordon Levitt character was sold short of his capabilities, being that this was a Leo movie. (Hey I'm not complaining though, I love the Leo) But Joe was still charming as f_ck, and the mere thought of "Marry me" would be on constant rotation. It's all kinds of wrong to have a man look that good in a suit.  Casting Pete Postlethwaite (Father Lawerence, Romeo + Juliet) to play Cillian Murphy's dad was perfect. They looked the father son part.

At the end of the movie, the viewer is left with determining the reality of the characters. And once your out of the theater..you too are also left with questioning your own reality.

Thank you Christopher Nolan, I haven't seen a great movie at the theaters in quite a while.
