Did some rest and digest with Sharon in DTLA. We hit up Bottega Louie as recommendations from Reese and various Yelpers. I fell in love with the achromatic and simple motif of Bottega. From the tall white walls, black dimpled seats, to the water bottles, love love love. The restaurant is divided into two sections, where the front part is the market and self seating, then the actual dining area. Walking toward the dining section, you have a clear view of the chefs and staff hard at work in the open kitchen. There are different menus for each part of the day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). I guess during the mid afternoon they present a smaller menu with some of the items.
We started off with a margherita pizza, neapolitan style. I love this type of pizza, I found it to be delicious and light. Mozzarella is my favorite! Then we had an order of Portobello fries accompanied with garlic aioli sauce. That was pretty much heaven in my mouth. Perfect texture combination, crispy and soft. Not to mention it was flavorful. Finally, we had our pastas, I ordered a ravioli dish and Sharon had the Trenne. I wasn't too impressed with my pasta, pretty presentation but a little bland in taste. Sharon's Trenne was interesting, if you're Filipino, it had this Nilaga type taste to it. We then topped our feast off with some desert, everything looked amazing but we settled with some macaroons. Colorful and delish!
The restaurant grows louder as more people fill it. But I enjoyed the booming ambiance, it fit the experience. I would go back to Bottega for those fries and to try other things on the menu and mainly because the restaurant is so aesthetically pleasing to me, that it just makes me happy haha.
